We finally stopped at a modest local restaurant; and she said, “I really like this place because you can laugh, and no one will ask you to be quiet.” I reminded Marina about that dinner while we were eating at a similar place and she wanted to leave because they had a lot of film posters of the actress Florinda Bolkan, a great love of hers. Marina said as she walked out, “I can’t eat here; it makes me sad because it’s about something secretive that doesn’t exist anymore.” From then on, I was mindful of the restaurants we went to, especially during the Venice Film Festival. Very few people know what a wonderful photographer Marina was- At my archive in New York, up on the shelves is a photograph she took of Bernardo Bertolucci and Pier Paolo Pasolini sitting on the curb of a dusty road at the beginning of their artistic life. Before I forget, I want to remind you to see a print of the film Belle du Jour by Luis Buñuel or the film Teorema by Pasolini. She was also one of the first female producers in the Italian Film Industry- but I could go on for hours about this beguiling friend, but all I can think about is how when I next visit my favorite city, Rome, I won’t be able to find her. -Bruce Weber and Nan Bush」11月9日 0時15分
