Since 4 August, over 131,000 visitors have travelled from across the globe to discover #TheWorldofFreddieMercury—and of the thousands of objects in the series of sales, there’s one that meant the most to Mercury.

Overwhelmed by this response, Mary Austin has decided that Mercury’s adored Yamaha G2 Baby Grand Piano—which she has so treasured over the years—should now be offered without reserve, to open the possibility of bidding to all fans.

Sotheby’s specialist Gabriel Heaton joins us from the #SothebysLondon galleries to share the story behind Mercury’s beloved piano, which he used to compose hits such as ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and considered as an extension of himself.
