@mddyelrck found candle ice in Moraine lake!
Candlestick ice occurs when the sun melts thick layers of ice, usually covering bodies of water like lakes. The ice melts unevenly, creating a honeycomb pattern and forming column shapes. It’s sometimes called “rotten ice”.

The candlestick ice on Moraine Lake in Banff National Park marks the final remnants of cold winter before the arrival of warm summer weather. This change opens up opportunities for activities like hiking, climbing, and even canoeing without ice!
