Døds is an extreme form of freestyle diving where participants jump from great heights with arms outstretched and belly first, aiming to land in a cannonball or shrimp position. The sport comprises two disciplines: Classic and Freestyle. In the Classic event, divers glide horizontally with extended arms and legs before entering the water, avoiding rotations. Just before impact, competitors curl into a fetal position, landing with their feet and hands or knees and elbows to prevent serious injuries. Judges evaluate dives based on speed, air time, complexity, duration of the original pose, the closing, and the splash. In the Freestyle discipline, divers perform various tricks mid-air, including rotations and flips, which inspired the name.
