With their beautiful, brightly colored stripes, it would be easy to confuse these candy- striped leafhoppers for a delicious sweet. Found from Canada to Panama, this species belongs to a group of leafhoppers known as sharpshooters. As they suck sap from leaves, they expel excess liquid in droplets with a forceful pop.
