As some of you may know Calvin and I have recently signed with a modeling agency in London and are being represented as a couple. After some initial hesitation and a step away from “fashion”, I’m starting to remember the parts of it that I love. I’ll be dipping my toe into fashion week again and Calvin and I will be attending some events. This time we are a couple, one of whom writes, the other a photographer who happen to enjoy the culture and history that surrounds the fashion system and find it interesting to write about and take pictures of. This new reinvention, for us both, as Calvin was always behind, not in front of the camera, offers us the opportunity to experiment with the different selves we have become during the last four years when we have moved, done and are still doing renovations on our new/old house and on our new/old selves. Our dreamy cream colored vest and jacket are menswear, made in the NYC garment district and easily exchanged between us making them functional and sustainable. Made in NYC reminds us of our days living there and the many trips we took to visit friends and learn about fashion in the garment district. In a nod to my beginnings as Accidental Icon I re-enter the scene wearing Issey Miyake, now a bright color rather than black. Our footwear is an ode to comfort. We styled these new pieces with old, loved garments that remind us to stay true to who we are in our everyday life. The early days of a reinvention time are the most exciting because you have no idea what can possibly happen to you or what may come your way. What I write about in my book and what I have found to be true is that we have endless opportunities to reinvent throughout a lifetime each a chance to explore a new version of who you are or have become.
