Got 35mm cron 7 elements that I’ve been looking for for about a year. Took a few photos and brought directly to customer care center to add 6bit code. Looking forward to use after 3 weeks waiting.

I wanted to solve the riddle of comparing with the 6elements, so here is a quick comparison.

The height — exactly the same. It looked a little shorter, but I guess the thicker diameter made it look shorter. The lens itself is big.

The weight — 10g lighter. I really appreciate this reduction. As I have written sometimes, I don’t want to carry it around when it’s heavy, I get a chance to take a picture at such times, without camera.

The images — produces more contemporary. Yes, what many say “contemporary”? That was one of the mysteries. The colors are different, the resolved edges are clearer, and the blur is much smoother. At best, the image is cleaner, but at worst, it is more ordinary for now. That’s what a “contemporary image” really is. It ends up using the same word as everyone else.

It’s my dull impression after seeking long time. I can almost imagine how it will turn out before I take picture. But the purpose of this project is to solve this mystery. I have an answer in my mind as to how to control the pictures I take.

Anyways, he is quiet. Will he be a good person to talk to? That’s my first impression. I’m not looking for sure picture quality or beauty from him. The expectations for him are to stand beside me and say, “Hey, hey, hey, hey! How’s that, isn’t that great?” or, “Hey, aren’t you going out today?”.

念願の35mm 7枚玉を入手。1年くらい探したんじゃないか。惜しいけど数枚試し撮りしてそのまま6ビット改造へ。3週間後が楽しみ。

6枚玉との比較という謎解きをしてみたかったので簡単に。
高さは全く同じだった。少し短いようにみえてたけど、直径が太いせいで短く見えてたみたい。レンズが大きい。

重さは10g軽くなっている。この10gの軽量化が本当にありがたいのだ。都度書いているが、重いと持ち歩きたくなくなるし、そういう時に限ってシャッターチャンスがあって後悔する。

写りは現代っぽくなってる。そう、なんだ「現代っぽい写り」って？っていうのが謎のひとつだった。色が違う、解像してるエッジがクリアになって（しまって）る、ボケ足がだいぶ滑らかになっている。よく言えばきれいになった、でも悪く言えば普通になった。というのが、「現代っぽい写り」の正体だ。なんだ、結局みんなと同じ言葉になるんじゃないか。

一年探してこれかぁ、というのが率直な感想だ。撮る前に上がりが想像できちゃう感じがする。だけど、目的はこの謎を解明するためだ。撮った絵をどうコントロールしていくかは自分の中では答えが出ているからだ。

それにしても、おとなしい。癖がなくて、キャラ立ちしていない。さて、話し相手になるだろうか。というファーストインプレッション。画質の良さも、写りの美しさも君には求めていない。ただ横にいてやんややんや言ってくれればいいんだよ。どうだ、すげーだろ！とか、ほら、お前今日は外行かないのか？とか。
