Its day 4 of this little guy only being content in my arms. A big shift from him sleeping happily on his dads chest between feedings, and sometimes even an hour here or there in the stroller. Right now, mom’s arms is just where it’s at. Completely normal, and expected, and as it should be - but hard, still. The sun is shining, it’s a beautiful day and everyone is outside enjoying the summer weather. I’m in the kitchen alternating between feeding and gently bouncing him, walking from room to room for hours, just trying to soothe this little bear. It feels both isolating and deeply connected at the same time. Motherhood is like this. We spend days feeling like we aren’t accomplishing anything, like nothing is getting done, like we’re doing nothing… But we are actually doing everything. This, here, is everything.

things I’m dreaming about doing in this moment:

-lay out in the sun
-tincture nasturtium
-start a batch of herbal bitters
-bake sourdough
-clean out the office
-go for a dip in the lake

what I’m actually doing in this moment:

-holding all of the universe in my arms
-feeling my heart overflow with love
-experiencing an actual dream come true❤️☀️
