Photo by @jodymacdonaldphoto | The Karni Mata Temple (known as the Rat Temple) in India is something you've never seen before and will not soon forget, mostly because you have to go into the temple barefoot. Located in the Indian state of Rajasthan, this temple is home to thousands of rats that are believed to be the descendants of the Hindu goddess Karni Mata. It is a popular pilgrimage site for Hindus, and devotees come from all over India to pay their respects to the rats, offering them food and milk. I liked watching this harmonium player serenading rats and people as if he were providing a sense of normalcy in a surreal setting.
