Photo by @mattborowick | When approaching an iceberg you have to be incredibly aware of your surroundings, as well as the depth of your boat. What we see above the water’s surface is only about 10 percent of its full size. These beautiful ice sculptures can be very dangerous if you get too close, so maintaining a safe distance is key. Conveniently for us, this iceberg was massive enough that we could see all the details in the ice—every scrape and fracture—from a reasonable range.
