I don’t know where comes that moment where you stop living and start, 'just breathing'.

You’re out there, on the road, walking, with mountains in sight, with a beach in reach, with the window of your lover round the corner, where you’ll knock and they'll come out, and you’ll kiss them.

And then one day it disappears, these beautiful visions, which once appeared and you remain, shivering with fear, angry, trying to breathe freely but the chains keep tightening as if there’s a demon who is out there, trying to hold you in, trying to keep you away from flying in the sky, and the kid who thought of himself as a hero, now lays lifeless.

You just breathe, you write a word, delete it, you take a step, and fall down. You smile but not without tears, you dream but they shatter in the morning.

But you know who you are, you know the spirit that resides within you, you know the songs that flow in your veins, you remember the dreams that actually came true, the night where the stars twinkled as if the whole universe was yours, and you were one with it all, the night you felt infinite.

And you know it’ll end, and before you know it, these breaths will be racing, because your legs will be running towards happiness, there’ll be mountains in sight, a beach to your right, and a golden sky waiting for you to arrive under.

But until then, please please please, just keep breathing.
