Puto. Yeah I said it. Who likes puto? My Mexican kids cackle with laughter every time I say it, and if you know what it means in Spanish…you know! 😹 But yes, I grew up with puto, which are steamed Filipino rice cakes. I grew up with this version, the one made with Bisquick, which received their distinct shape when steamed in unused medicine cups if you had a family member who who was a nurse. Silicone molds work just as well, and with Valentine’s Day around the corner, I made little heart puto. ❤️
