Vogelkop Superb Bird-of-Paradise display sequence. Following up to the REEL I posted the other day, here is another edit of the Vogelkop Superb display, this time with sound from the field. The display itself is pretty quiet, except for the unusual wing snaps. At the end, you can hear the male’s call as he tries to lure the female back…. despite his performance, apparently she wasn’t that impressed.
Filmed in the Arfak Mountains of West Papua, Indonesia, where I documented the display of this species for the first time back in 2016.
