This elegant bureau de dame, with jewel-like chased mounts framing panels inlaid in bois-de-bout floral parquetry, is a masterpiece of the celebrated cabinet maker Roger van der Cruse, dit Lacroix.⠀

It was commissioned in the early years of his career circa 1755 for one of his most important royal patrons: Madame Louise-Elisabeth (1727-1759), dite Madame Infante, Duchess of Parma and daughter of Louis XV, for one of her palaces in the Duchy of Parma.⠀
