This war continued in the most northern reaches of New England until the signing of the Treaty of Casco Bay in April 1678.⠀ .⠀ Originally printed in Boston, this is thought to be the first map of America to have been printed in North America. The present edition — printed in London and issued only three months after the Boston edition— reprints the text word for word, while correcting many of the earlier edition's typographical errors.⠀ .⠀ The large woodcut map is a copy of the map in the Boston edition (both showing East and West reversed), several of the place names being misspelled, the most obvious discrepancy being the substitution of 'The Wine Hills' for the 'White Hills' of New Hampshire.⠀ .⠀ The Present State of New-England — With The 'Wine Hills' Map, William Hubbard, 1677.
