Over to David... + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + In the late 1970’s Rolling Stone magazine appeared in Germany as a supplement in Musik Joker magazine. The supplement was only 8 pages but featured a cover story, international news, record reviews and random notes. (Top left) A live 1978 shot of Bowie appeared on the cover of this issue with the headline David Bowie and Iggy Pop: A Heart for Berlin. Rolling Stone magazine wouldn’t become a full title in Germany until 1994. In Australia the previous month (October 4th, 1979), Rolling Stone magazine would publish the same story with a Bowie front cover and the headline David Bowie and Iggy Pop: Bad Boys in Berlin. The American version with the same issue date had American singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett as the cover star but utilised the same Bowie cover image that had been used down under, inside. + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + Thanks David, much appreciated.
