The key to Napoleon’s room! 🔑

This extraordinary relic ‘taken from the lock’ to Napoleon’s room on St Helena is a highlight of our Royal & Noble sale. Described on the accompanying note as the “Key of the Room at Longwood, in which Napoleon died”, it was brought back from the island prison by Charles Richard Fox, most probably as a gift for his mother Elizabeth Vassall Fox, Baroness Holland, who had been a great admirer of the Emperor.
