It wasn’t a year for professional development, rather personal development. I usually evaluate my year on my performance stats – so if I’m using that metric, 2020 was a complete dud. But if I evaluate this year on activities and people who brought me joy, there is still plenty to celebrate. So, in no particular order, swipe through my 2020 HIGHLIGHTS: 1. Mardi Gras with @officialjohnmason, @danielkowalski775 and @elliotlondon. By far the most accepting, welcoming and colourful event I have ever been to. 2-3. Scuba Diving adventures with the Winter Mermaids. Planning adventures with these guys gave me something to look forward to – and even better, our plans never got cancelled! 4. Meeting @benemaggs and @yourfriendmaxi – at the beginning of this year I was struggling with loneliness in Sydney, but meeting you guys helped change that. 5. Trying furniture restoration (and a new found love of Bunnings). I’ve loved giving old furniture a new lease on life with a bit of sanding and a lick of paint (insert any number of metaphors here) 6. Lockdown Sunrises – you guys have heard me wax on enough about them. 7. All the wonderful, kind messages I received from you all – especially after the announcement the Olympics were being postponed. 8. Getting the chance to explore Sydney 9. Game face for 2021 💪 While I am VERY happy to see the back of 2020 – it has been challenging to say the least – I am so grateful for everyone who has stood by me. I’d particularly like to give a shout out to @arenawaterinstinct, @avene_au , @allianz.australia, @nswinstituteofsport, @nswswimming, @au_tla.
