My fav lifts of 2020:
-107 double during the first bit of quarantine shortly after the Olympics were postponed. I cried pretty much daily & had almost zero emotional control bc ✨anxiety✨, but I was able to channel it for some really bad ass sessions completely by myself. And also some really really shitty ones, never really knew what to expect from myself those days

-my first comp 110 snatch! It felt like such a break through & mannnnn did it feel like such an easy lift. It was beyond exciting & had I made that 140 jerk after it would have been a perfect day after endless battles leading up to it. Not a PR day, but a day where everything felt effortless for once. Those days are magic

-my fav dip day, 145 & 111 after literally having to quit my morning session & go home because my brain couldn’t get it together. I was so proud of that second session.

Basically all things that happened after being so beat down & in such rough places. Little glimmers of “okay you’re doing okay” to keep me going all year. We didn’t have a single day of “maxing” really, because this year just wasn’t about that. I got to push some days, but we never really went into a session like OKAY MAX SINGLE DAY. Which is kind of exciting for when those days do come. A year of mostly being my own cheerleader in training, endless literal self talk to get through a session alone & a whoooooole lotta bullshit. But here we are and I’m surviving, so here’s to hopefully thriving instead in 2021 🥂
