Executed in 1966, Jean Dubuffet’s ‘Pendule IV (Flamboiement de L'Heure)’ marks the height of the artist’s ‘Ustensiles Utopiques’ series, in which he celebrated the mundane objects of everyday life in his signature Hourloupe style. Dubuffet's colors and shapes meticulously intertwine to form a perpetual maze - a clock that is balanced between figuration and abstraction, form and fantasy.
