Photo by @karimiliya / Volcán de Fuego is located above the town of Antigua Guatemala. During this period of activity, every 20 minutes or so the volcano would explode, and chunks of lava the size of vehicles would fly through the sky and roll down the mountain. A huge explosive sound followed immediately after. Sometimes the ash came first and fire would erupt from a black cloud, and other times the lava was visible first. Despite the danger, there are people around the world living near or under active volcanoes.
