The final chapter of the legendary Ginny Williams Collection comes to a close with our online photographs sale, open for bidding through 4 December. A pioneering collector, gallerist, and lifelong patron of the arts, Ginny was a dynamic force in the art world for more than three decades, passionately collecting more than 1,000 photographs by the time of her passing. Throughout of her life, a primary focus of Ginny’s efforts—whether as a collector, patron, or philanthropist—was her unfaltering advocacy for female artists, and her collection had a particular focus on works by trailblazing female modernists.

As evident in Ginny’s collection of photographs of O’Keeffe, taken by the artist’s peers Arnold Newman, Yousuf Karsh, Philippe Halsman and Alfred Stieglitz, Ginny revered O’Keeffe as a pioneer and kindred spirit.
