We should be allowed to stare far away for hours,
We should be allowed to do so without anyone questioning our intent,
We should be allowed to have no intent for doing so,
Allowed to have just happiness in our hearts,
Freedom in our minds,
To be able to stare,
For as long as we want,
Until we ourselves become those birds,
Which keep flying over those hills,
Kissing the skies,
Dancing with the clouds,
And running across rainbows,
Appearing over the horizon
To celebrate our being.

We should be allowed,
To aimlessly count the folds of the earth,
In front of us,
Allowed to run through them,
Until we’ve found all the gems we dreamt about,
Allowed to find gems,
We never even dreamt about.

So that one day we can stand there,
Atop some hill,
Staring at the clouds forming in the sky,
With no remorse in our hearts,
Only smiles on our lips,
As we count the memories we contain,
Before becoming a cloud once again.
