Rudolf Bauer's major breakthrough came in 1930 when he was introduced to art collector, Solomon R. Guggenheim. Guggenheim was immediately smitten by the genius of Non-Objective art, and acquired hundreds of works by Bauer over the years, including ‘Light Circle’ from 1936, seen here. Included in the Guggenheim Museum’s legendary 1939 exhibition, The Art of Tomorrow, Bauer’s vivid work will once again take center stage as a highlight of our Impressionist & Modern Art Day sale, which is open for bidding through 19 November .
