Photo by @lucalocatelliphoto / An aerial view of the Amager Bakke waste-to-energy plant in Copenhagen, Denmark. Designed by Bjarke Ingels, Amager Bakke claims to be the world's cleanest incinerator, and it provides hot water to the city. On top of Amager Bakke's massive architecture, a ski slope and a hiking track attract people from the city, offering a different perspective on industrial plants and energy production facilities. Incinerators are seen as an end-of-pipe solution to get rid of our waste. This is why Amager Bakke has been designed from the ground up to one day run out of trash and be fueled by biomass, making it a promising solution to energy security.

Please follow me @lucalocatelliphoto to learn about the promising new solutions to the pressing issues facing our planet and how we can make a difference. #environment #circulareconomy #amagerbakke #copenhagen #lucalocatelliphoto
