I didn’t know that I could stare at Himalayas, from my bed in Nainital, until I recently went there before leaving on my Kedarnath-Gangotri trip.

Now, I wanted to visit Nainital to click some pictures for an assignment, while also getting some hiking done to begin warming up for my Kedartal trek. But the whole trip turned out to be much more.

And in the meantime, I also ended up discovering a property in a hidden part of Nainital that would give me unobstructed views of Himalayas every morning, bathing in the first light of the day, across the Kumaon hills, and I’d watch the mountains come to life every morning while taking sips from my cup of coffee at @kahaljungleresort, who not only offered to host me during my days in Nainital, but eventually the lovely owners of the place became good friends, where every evening we’d sit under the stars and have some absolutely delicious kumaoni dishes.

But more than that, it was that view, waking up to the Himalayas, which made it the most memorable of journeys and truly one of my best out of my almost 30-40 trips to Nainital.
