Been ruminating lately on these remote & wild stretches of river we had to cross on bike ( mostly on foot) while traversing the deep and empty expanse of Iceland’s interior. For a country that I have always associated with water and lots of it... I was blown away by much of a desert it really is. Huge expanses of moisture-less terrain would be between us and our next drink of water. These places force you at times to appreciate the most simple of necessities. Those moments bring us back to a very raw & primal way of operating. It hones the senses & strips away a lot of unnecessary B.S. from your everyday existence. Like I said above.. ruminating .. mostly on the WHY hard things are important for growth.
