The watercolour pictured is Tingqua's brother Lamqua's studio, where Lamqua and his Cantonese artists produced portraits and local scenery for export.⠀ .⠀ Ambroise-Louis Garneray's rare view of Muscat is also included in the sale. Many of Garneray's subjects were taken from his years at sea, this one a souvenir of his visit to Muscat and the gulf of Oman in 1802.⠀ .⠀ Further highlights include oil paintings and drawings of life in Macao by George Chinnery, the only western artist resident on the China coast in the early 19th century.⠀ .⠀ 1.
