The school, choreographed by current, time, and tide, forms many shapes throughout the day. I photographed the trevallies and swam past grazing turtles to a plunging wall. I descended by a passing tiger shark to a squadron of marble rays and surfaced to a whale shark gliding by. This is untamed Tubbataha, a UNESCO marine World Heritage site that is a wild, remote, and vigilantly protected crown jewel of the Philippines. // With 7,641 islands, the Philippines is a paradise made for all kinds of adventure.
