Now this morning, while starting the 16 km hike/trek, I decided to look for a porter to carry my heavier backpack(it weighed around 18/19 Kgs, a 100 lts backpack while my camera backpack was heavy as well) But I couldn’t find any, and all I could find were mules, but that would’ve been risky, along with it being unnecessarily expensive. So I decided to walk ahead carrying all the luggage, thinking that whenever I’d feel tired, I’d just hire the mule for the luggage. However, with every step forward, I started feeling a sense of belief that I might be able to do it, carry my luggage till the temple without any help. And it was something I couldn’t even think of in my dreams, since I’ve been extremely unfit in recent times. A step came after another, a km became two, and slowly I walked through the mountains, drinking from small waterfalls, meeting random strangers who were amused to see someone carrying so much luggage till Kedarnath. But while my ankles pained, my body felt the strain, the people I met on the way kindly approached me always asking if I needed any help, or just having conversations with me whenever I sat down to catch a breath. And though it took a long time, but at the end of it, all I was left with was ankle pain that’ll be fine by tomorrow, but there wasn’t any tiredness. And maybe it’s because how beautiful an experience it was, as I pushed my physical limits, learnt more about my strength, and all the time as I walked alone, slowly, I had enough time to soak in my own company and just be in the middle of tall mountains with Mandakini flowing down the valley. I thought that reaching Kedarnath would be a divine experience, though little did I know that it would indeed be the journey till my destination that would give me a memory of the life time.(and ankle pain for the night 😛) . P.S. Photos are by kind strangers who offered to click since I was trekking alone. And one guy asked me to click one with him as well, since we both shared our hometowns.」10月3日 1時51分 - abhiandnow

So this is what happened today,

I decided in an impromptu manner to reach Kedarnath, and be there for a few days, experience the serenity of this space, and also get my pending work done.

Now this morning, while starting the 16 km hike/trek, I decided to look for a porter to carry my heavier backpack(it weighed around 18/19 Kgs, a 100 lts backpack while my camera backpack was heavy as well)

But I couldn’t find any, and all I could find were mules, but that would’ve been risky, along with it being unnecessarily expensive.

I thought that reaching Kedarnath would be a divine experience, though little did I know that it would indeed be the journey till my destination that would give me a memory of the life time.(and ankle pain for the night 😛)
.
P.S. Photos are by kind strangers who offered to click since I was trekking alone. And one guy asked me to click one with him as well, since we both shared our hometowns.
