These are simply amazing little birds. With a length of 13 to 14 inches (33 to 36 centimeters) and a wingspan of 30 to 33 inches (76 to 84 centimeters), these incredible creatures cover roughly 44,200 miles (71,133 kilometers) every year migrating from the Arctic to Antarctica. It's one of the longest migrations known in the animal kingdom. Their beauty and elegance in flight are breathtaking.
