After seeing the thousands of people around the bay I decided to explore a sneaky angle Hagan Kelly tipped me off to by fire station across from Foodland market. It was a hard angle to see the wave because only the bigger sets could be seen before moving past the boulders on the point. About 30 minutes after setting up, Flea wiped out on a thick one. The moment happened so quickly only 3 shots were taken on a newly purchased digital camera. After reviewing the images on the back of the screen I was sad because everything looked washed out and lack luster. After coming home and giving this image to the art directors they were able to convert it to black & white, boost the contrast and put it on the cover of the Danger issue. To put things into perspective, 2004 was a relatively new time period for digital cameras and photo processing tools were just testing the limits of these RAW image files. Seeing this image come alive on the computer screen and then reproduce in print really opened my eyes to the potential of digital photography."」9月12日 5時39分 - surfline
