#GuggenheimAtLarge: In the latest installment of the Guggenheim Circular, we’re exploring the theme of “Time,” in all its forms and intricacies.

In “Stamina” (2014–2015), Agathe Snow (@agathesnow) used live music, film, and movement as means to explore social interactions, rebellion, and the redemptive power of human ingenuity and community. In 2005, to capture shared moments on Manhattan’s downtown scene in the years directly following the attacks of September 11, 2001, Snow planned and filmed a dance party with her friends and fellow artists in a loft on Ann Street. A decade later, she edited the footage into a 24-hour film that celebrates the resilience of underground culture while also expanding the limits of documentary film. Here, the importance of dance, club culture, and togetherness is amplified through the backdrop of trauma in post-9/11 New York City.
