Photo by @deeptiasthana The fishing market in Diu, India, is entirely run by women. They pool the money to buy the fish from the sailors every morning, set up their makeshift shops, and auction the bounty. For the next several hours the market is full of chaos, color, and the charisma of the Koli women. The Koli community is traditionally known for their work in fishing.
When I visited the market, I was astonished by the activities all around me. I climbed up on a wrecked ship to have a viewpoint and make sense of things. And that’s how this photograph was taken.
