The world of crafting and DIY is not the most diverse. As a black woman in this industry, I've not always felt seen. Many of the products in the marketplace were not made for me and I've become accustomed to being the only one of "me" in the room. Thankfully, I've been blessed with a big mouth and big opinions. I don't shy away from speaking my mind and by doing so, hopefully giving a voice to other crafters like me who are carving a niche in this community. I try my best to bring representation and diversity to the projects that create...and I also recognize the power of Black Girl Magic. As much as people need to hear my opinions, the world also needs to see Black women shining and thriving...bonus points if there is a striped rainbow mural in the background.
