Been a while the evenings brought us

Been a while since the sun shone,
On your naked body,
Been a while I sat across
And stared at it for hours,
Been a while we slept,
Upon the lush meadows,
Been a while there have been blue skies,
Above us.

Been a while I sniffed,
Your hair,
Been a while you slept
on my shoulder.

Been a while you held my hand,
And placed it upon your breasts,
A while you sat on my lap,
And kissed my forehead.

Been a while you sang a song,
While taking bath,
Before asking me,
To join in.

Been a while your neck
Smelled of wildflowers,
In the mountains,
And your eyes,
Stared back into mine.

Been a while,
Since I wrote a story,
And asked you to type it on your typewriter.

Been a while,
Since I read the book,
You once gifted me,
Before finding you snatching it off me,
And once again guiding my fingers,
Across your naked landscapes.

And it’s been a while,
Since I pulled you closer,
And tasted coffee off your tongue,
With mountains across the window.
