The Philippine crocodile is one of the most endangered crocodilian species in the world. One of the smaller members of the crocodile family, males measure up to just ten feet in length, with females being even smaller. Like all crocodiles, this species exhibits temperature-dependent sex determination. This means that the temperature at which the egg incubates ultimately determines the sex of the baby crocodile inside,​ ​so most of the time, the hatchlings in a nest are either all boys or all girls.
