If you’ve been following for awhile, you know that Harlow is a big @kamalaharris fan. Today, when I told her the news, she let out a little squeal. “Mom. I know there has never been a woman president. Has there ever been a woman Vice President?” I told her that if Biden and Harris win, she will be the first. Then she asked if she could come to the voting booth with me this year. I said yes. I usually take Mazzy. Then, just to cover my bases, I felt the need to tell her that due to the pandemic, we might be mailing in our ballot this year. She asked if she could put it in the mailbox. I said of course. And then we got into a whole discussion about the post office and how Trump is trying to plant the seed that mail-in ballots are unreliable, probably so he can contest the count in the end. And just when I thought I had taken it too far and was truly operating over Harlow’s head, she said, “I love talking about this... ummm... stuff with you. What is it called?” “It’s called politics, Harlow. I love talking politics with you too!” I also love that when Biden and Harris win 🤞🏻🤞🏻, Harlow is going to feel some ownership. Which is exactly how you get an informed and active voter for life. 🗳
