Frankie update! I think we trained her!!! I did it using a combo of advice from all of you guys, so thank you! We had to take away the pee pads entirely to avoid any confusion, so that she knew anything besides 💩 outside was wrong. For a week, we kept her on a leash inside at all times so she couldn’t sneak away and do the deed when no one was watching. We got on a regular schedule, walking her in the morning, about 15 minutes after each meal and at night before bed. She gets a big treat if she poops outside. She usually poops at the end of our walk when I let her run around the yard unleashed. At the beginning, if we walked her and she didn’t go, we put her in the crate after. Now that she is having less accidents, we confine her to the kitchen if she doesn’t go. If she goes outside, then she can run freely in the house. Next step is figuring out a way for her to 💩 on the road while on a leash, so she’s ready for the city. One tricky thing is that she doesn’t eat on a regular schedule. Her bowl will often sit there untouched for most of the morning and then she’ll eat around lunch so that messes up our schedule. Any advice? #queenfrankiecavalier #kingcharlescavalier
