Photo by @francescolastrucci Just before sunrise, a man cleans the beach below gigantic Chinese fishing nets in Kerala, India. Of the many Chinese fishing nets that dotted the Fort Kochi shore four decades ago, only half a dozen remain. Fishermen manually operate the nets according to the tides. The 10-meter-high nets form an integral part of Fort Kochi’s landscape. They were introduced in the 14th century by the merchants of the court of Kublai Khan.
