For the past four years I have donated my social media every Sunday to different students who are passionate about the environment to talk about carbon pricing. While I still want to continue this work (we have accomplished so much and I am so proud of/inspired by all of you!) I’d like to put a stronger emphasis on intersectional environmentalism and I am now turning my Sunday feed over to black voices and conversations surrounding education on racial advocacy and sustainability from youth leaders, environmentalists and experts in the sustainability space. Every week we have had a different guest, and today @iam_samata will be sharing. Samata and I met through red carpet green dress. She is the CEO of @redcarpetgreendress , an eco warrior and mama who inspires me beyond. She is doing the work paving the way for a better future in fashion which we all know trickles in to so many other human/environmental rights issues. Last month her and I spent hours on zoom discussing areas to change and ways to be active participants in one of the most moving and connected conversations I’ve ever had with a fellow earth advocate.
