Exploring deeper into one of my favorite areas of the universe!
⠀
This is the ‘Rho Ophiuchi’ cloud complex. It’s a massive nebula of colorful cosmic dust and gas and is one of the closest place where new stars are born. If you swipe right, you can see a wide field view of where Rho is in the Milky Way galaxy.
⠀
I’ve been fascinated by the dark arm that extends off of the Milky Way for as long as I can remember and I typically use it as a guide to judge my night sky images by how much definition I get in that area (because it’s only visible when there is very little light pollution).
⠀
By combining the use of a telescope and the new @Fujifilmx_us medium format GFX 100 camera, which has a massive sensor that lets in more light in and has a higher dynamic range, I was able to capture more detail in the sky than I ever knew existed.
⠀
Huge thanks to Dustin (@gibsonpics) for continuing to help make these images possible and always encouraging me to look, and shoot, deeper into the universe!
