Photo by @dina_litovsky Social distancing is observed while walking through a tunnel in New York City. I spent the three months of the city's shelter-in-place order photographing Manhattan after dark. The eerie quiet resembled an abandoned theater stage. By losing its social purpose, the familiar landscape of the city's bars, restaurants, intersections, and squares became unrecognizable. The empty streets transformed into a Hopperesque space of the ultimate night, punctuated by glowing windows and streetlights. The few remaining sources of light offered sanctuary to the lonely passersby, shuffling in and out of darkness. For more images of night NYC, follow me @dina_litovsky.
