Photo by Nick Steinmetz This is me, George Steinmetz @geosteinmetz, returning from Kazakhstan on July 15 with my son Nick. We were among a handful of passengers on the last leg from Amsterdam to Newark. With no U.S. citizens allowed to enter Europe, and most of the Middle East and Africa either closed or requiring quarantine, we felt like the last survivors, with lots of elbow room. Now at home in New Jersey, we’ve been banished to the treehouse in our back yard, feeling like a pair of suspected lepers until our test results come back. Was it worth it? Yes!
