We do not want to be immediately so dreamless. - Those were the words that came up after @nick_knight ‘s “dialogue” with @pppiccioli for @maisonvalentino’s haute couture show, of digital projections on a haute couture collection that was then physically shown to a small audience in Rome’s Cinecitta studios - Lengthen, make it longer, elongate - no not the actual digital show experience itself but the ethereal haute couture gowns that towered over you - even from a computer screen. - Over the course of our Zoom chats (thanks @bryanboycom @bagsnob @veronikaheilbrunner @tinaleung @tamumcpherson @bagsnob for joining me), we’ve talked about how the pandemic and lockdown have made certain things impossible or certain aspects a necessity in the making of collections, digital happenings and “shows” - Here there were no limitations - literally.
