More than 23 million people in the US live in "food deserts" — places without access to affordable and nutritious food. Renegade gardener Ron Finley (@ronfinleyhq) is helping these neighborhoods — like South Central LA, where he lives — by planting vegetable gardens in vacant lots, traffic medians and other unlikely places. And it's not just about food: These pop-up gardens bring hope and beauty to communities where, as Finley puts it, "the drive-thrus are killing more people than the drive-bys."
