That's a fact many people from the continent wish the rest of the world would recognize — and it's also the title of this image from Nigerian-bred, Brooklyn-based artist Láolú Senbanjo (@laolunyc). In her TED Talk, journalist and satirist Adeola Fayehun (@adeolafayehun) uses Senbanjo's striking work to emphasize that African nations have all the skills, intellect and resources they need to take their rightful place on the world stage. So what is the real problem holding Africa back and how can its *54* countries truly unleash their potential? It’s a matter of leadership, according to Fayehun: "Africa is like a sleeping giant," she says. "I am trying to wake up this giant. That's why I air the dirty laundry of those in charge."
