Where do you start when designing a museum? That’s what Vincent Willem—the founder of the @VanGoghMuseum (and Vincent van Gogh’s nephew)—wondered before commissioning architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld to create the museum’s main building. Their source of inspiration was none other than our iconic Frank Lloyd Wright-designed structure—the influence can be seen in the Van Gogh Museum’s light, open spaces, including a high skylight in its central hall.
