ソフィア・ブッシュさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ソフィア・ブッシュInstagram)「Today, Oge Egbuonu @ogetheyogi joins me on @workinprogress to discuss @invisibleportraits, the documentary she began working on three years ago to shed light on Black women’s history in America. The film launched on demand Friday of last week, and I was lucky enough to see it early to prepare for our interview. (This film is so incredible that I watched it a second time through the day I sat down to see it with one of my best friends because I needed to be able to talk to her about it immediately!) I was floored, moved, angered, inspired, humbled, rocked, and beyond by what I saw, and what I learned. I have long understood that this country was built on the exploration of Black bodies. What I did not understand was how much that exploitation compounded on Black women. This is history we all need to learn. “I think that if you walk away from this film with a deeper understanding of Black women’s history, and a deeper understanding of how one’s privilege may play a role in that, that you will do the self work to figure out how you can show up better. And in doing that, I think the answers will come,” Oge told me in today’s episode of #WIP. We mapped her journey from her childhood, to a career in yoga that eventually led to a career in film, the importance of therapy along the way, and so much more. I know you’ll not only enjoy, but learn so much from this conversation. And the film?! Well, you’ve got some brain food for the weekend, friends. #WIPsmart #WorkInProgress 💙🧡💛 *YOU CAN FIND THE LINK TO @invisibleportraits IN THE WIP BIO AND STORIES*」6月24日 7時53分 - sophiabush
