I am so grateful that during my time in the NiCU, I was able to stay at the hospital with Zoey. The nurses, who became like family to us, suggested going home for a good night’s rest, but I couldn’t imagine returning home for the night without my little one. During these troubling times, parents are often separated from their babies in the NiCU because of extensive measures taken to protect their health and safety. A mother’s loving touch is restricted and sole trust is in the nursing staff to take care of our little ones.
